# Messages

The Friends tab is where you can invite people to connect with you on Hachiko. Type an email address into the "Invite by email..." field and tap the orange button to send an invitation. You can check the status of any pending invites under Sent Invitations. \

The Teams tab shows all the team channels you belong to. Each channel (shown with a # icon) is a shared space for group conversations. Tap any team name — such as Oncology — to open the channel and view or send messages.

The Direct tab is for one-on-one private conversations. If you haven't started any yet, you'll see "No conversations yet." To begin a new direct message, tap the + button in the top-right corner and select a contact to message.

Once inside a team channel, you can read messages from all members and join the conversation. Type your message in the field at the bottom. Use @ to mention a specific person, # to reference a hashtag, and the photo icon to share images. Press Enter to send.

To view or manage the members of a team channel, tap the people icon in the top-right corner. Here you'll see everyone currently in the channel. To add someone new, type their email address into the "Add by email..." field and tap the orange button.
